Library Instruction

Why should you take advantage of library instruction?

Library instruction benefits you and your students.  We aim to support your teaching efforts by working in partnership and reinforcing critical information fluency skills.  We can make sure your students know how to research and use library resources - but we don’t want to stop there.  We want to work with you to ensure that students understand not only where to find information, but how to evaluate and use it effectively and ethically.  The skills we focus on will not only help them succeed in your class, but throughout the rest of their college career and lives.

What different types of instruction are there?

Instruction is extremely flexible and can be whatever you want it to be.  We can schedule a classroom instruction session where a librarian will work with your class face-to-face.  You can have students schedule small group or individual research sessions with a librarian (ideal for specific students that may be struggling).  We can create a Course Guide, handouts or tutorials that your students can use throughout the semester. We can also add links and resources directly to your Moodle course page.  If there is something else that we can do to meet a need with your students or support your teaching, please let us know.
