Why note taking is an effective study tool
Taking notes on lectures and on course reading material is a highly effective study tool. In fact, besides attendance, taking good notes is probably the single most important activity for a college student. Taking notes in class promotes active listening and active class participation and it provides you with a record of the information that the professor presented. Taking notes on the course reading material promotes active reading to engage you with the material and helps condense the material to make it easier to review for quizzes and exams.
